Pittsboro, the seat of
Chatham County, is in a fast growing area. It is served by State
Highways 87 and 902, and is at the intersection of US Highways
15/501 and 64. It is only 16 miles to Chapel Hill and 32 miles west
of Raleigh.

extremes. Snow is usually more a cause for celebration than a
nuisance, with most traces melted by the next day.

Area events include the Fall Festival, the Christmas parade and such
attractions as the farmer's markets, gemstone mining, a wildlife
